Fighting Crime
The first duty of government is public safety. As California's chief law enforcement officer, I will implement a strategic plan to reduce crime, coordinated with the District Attorneys, Sheriffs and Police Departments in each of California's 58 counties. We'll have specific, realistic goals and regular assessments that assure we are disciplined and on track. Government has gotten away from the idea of accountability for results. I'll champion best practices like community policing and technological innovations like crime mapping that allow us to target our resources to make California safer.
