ATTORNEY GENERAL CANDIDATE CHRIS KELLY CONTRIBUTES AN ADDITIONAL $4 MILLION TO HIS CAMPAIGN

Vows to communicate with California voters about his ideas to take California in a new direction

Palo Alto — Today, Democratic Attorney General candidate Chris Kelly reported contributing an additional $4 million to his campaign on top of the $4 million already contributed, continuing to uphold his commitment to run an aggressive campaign to communicate with California voters. In addition to contributing substantial funding to his own campaign, Kelly has raised funds from supporters across the state of California.

"My campaign for Attorney General is about reducing crime, protecting consumers, and keeping Californians safe. I look forward to talking to voters over the next few weeks of this primary campaign about the diverse experience in law, business, and public policy I will bring to this office to help achieve those goals." Kelly said. "As the only non-politician in this race, I have never been the establishment candidate and will not be beholden to any special interests. My priority as Attorney General will always be ensuring public safety for all Californians."

Chris Kelly is the only candidate in the race to release detailed policy plans outlining what he'll do as California's next Attorney General. Details can be found on his web site at www.kelly2010.com/plans.

"With my background as a policy advisor to President Bill Clinton, my experience working with Attorneys General from across the country to keep the Internet safe, and my time serving as chief legal counsel at one of the most innovative technology companies in the world, I'm the candidate with the right experience and record of success to be California's next Attorney General," Kelly added.

Chris Kelly, an attorney and businessman, brings the right mix of experience in public policy, technology and law to fight traditional crime and combat new crimes of today — like identity theft and online sexual predators. After graduating from Harvard Law School, Kelly worked for a federal judge assisting on a wide range of criminal and civil cases, including drug smuggling and money laundering. Kelly then came home to work for a Palo Alto law firm, representing innovators and entrepreneurs, including Netscape in the Microsoft anti-trust case.

In the 1990s, he served as a domestic policy advisor to President Clinton. During his time working for President Clinton, Kelly helped advance the landmark plan that put 100,000 new community police officers on America's streets. As chief legal counsel at Facebook, Kelly worked side by side with Attorneys General from all 50 states developing safeguards to protect children from sexual predators and adults from online fraud.
